FRAMINGHAM – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 9 East on Sunday night, May 16, according to first responders.

Framingham Police said Route 9 East between Temple Street and Winter Street was closed to all traffic from around 9:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Framingham Deputy Police Chief Sean Riley confirmed the fatality around 11 p.m. Sunday.

The crash happened at Metro Credit Union at 1124 Worcester Road at 9:25 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle struck the base of the sign for the credit union, according to first responders.

A medical helicopter was requested but then was cancelled.

Framingham Police are still investigating,
