FRAMINGHAM  – Manuel Lage, 90, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Bear Mountain in Sudbury.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ester (Ruivo) Lage who died in 2016.

Manuel was born in Ludlow, son of the late Jose and Maria (Mouteiro) Lage. 

He grew up in Portugal and later returned to the U.S. as a teenager.

Manuel was a retired General Motors employee.

He loved gardening, watching westerns, soccer and singing in the choir at St. Tarcisius Church and spending time with his family.

He was a long time and founding member of the Framingham Portuguese Club.

He is survived by his children Antonio Lage and wife Laura of Ashland, Jorge Lage of Worcester, Raul Lage and his wife, Stephanie of Charlestown, NH.  He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Christoper Lage of Ashland, Timothy Lage of Wilmington, NC, Graham Lage of Framingham, Derek O’Malley of No. Brookfield, Kevin O’Malley of Quincy, Shannon O’Malley of Los Angeles, CA and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Vieira from Milford and nephews and nieces in both Portugal and the States.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his funeral Mass on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverley Street (Route 135) Framingham. 

Burial will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery.

Visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham will be Friday, May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.
