FRAMINGHAM – Sister Helen Thomas Colbert, CSJ, in her 70th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Saturday, May 1, 2021. 

Devoted daughter of the late Thomas Francis and Helen M. (Higgins) Colbert, and beloved sister of the late Marjorie Colbert, Thomas J. Colbert, Walter F. Colbert, Robert A. Colbert, Francis (Hank) Colbert, Mary Connor, Reverend John Colbert, Reverend Arthur Colbert, SSJ, Paul Colbert, Richard Colbert, and James Colbert. 

Sister Helen Thomas is survived by her loving sister, Helen Conroy, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her Sisters in the Congregation. 

Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas School, Jamaica Plain; St. Rose School, Santa Rosa, New Mexico; St. Columbkille School, Brighton; and Cathedral School, Boston.  Sister Helen Thomas’ many other missions were Community Organizer/Teacher, Hayneville, AL; Coordinator and teacher at the Resurrection School, Montgomery, AL; Accountant for the Jonestown Health Center, Jonestown, MS; receptionist for Dr. Mark Thomases, DMD, Brookline;  Book Store staff at Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Brighton; Secretary for the Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph, Framingham/Belmont; and secretary for the Leadership President of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston.
