Framingham Council Cuts 2022 Mayor’s Salary To $165,000

FRAMINGHAM – The 11-member Framingham City Council voted tonight, May 4, to lower the salary for the City of Framingham Mayor to $165,000, starting January 1, 2022.

Voters will elect a Mayor in November 2021.

The current salary of the Mayor was set to be the same as the last Town Manager in 2017 at $187,630, after voters approved a change in government from Town to City in spring 2017.

The appointed Framingham Strategic Initiatives and Financial Oversight Committee (SIFOC) reviewed salaries of mayors across the Commonwealth and presented a study to the City Council.

The $165,000 salary still places the Framingham Mayor’s salary among the top 5 in the state.
