FRAMINGHAM – Sister M. Helen Rosarie, O Carmelite 88, passed into eternal life on Thursday, April 29, 2021 in her 73 year of religious life.

Born Rose Marie Helen Arakelian in North Attleboro, MA on October 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Krekor & Rose (Haytaian) Arakelian.

Sister M. Helen entered Carmel on August 14, 1948, professed her first vows on April 12, 1950, and her final vows on December 8, 1954.

She was a graduate of St. Bernard’s School of Nursing in Chicago earning her R.N., and later earned her BS in Healthcare Administration and an MS in Health Services Administration.

Sister M. Helen was a licensed nursing home administrator in both Massachusetts and NY, and served in Fall River, So. Boston, New York City, and Framingham.

Besides her Sisters in Carmel, Sr. M. Helen is survived by her niece, Rosemary Burrows, her grand nieces, Barbara-Jean Doherty, and Ann Margaret Burrows, a great grandniece and several great grandnephews.

Considering the current restrictions, family and friends will honor and remember Sr. M. Helen’s life with a private funeral mass and interment.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Sr. M. Helen’s name to: Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, 863 Central St. Framingham, MA 01701.
