ASHLAND – Carmelo Petruzzelli, 87 of Ashland passed away Sunday April 25,2021 at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Sebastiana and Domenica (Estivo) Petruzzelli and was the husband of the late Marilyn (Stevens) Petruzzelli.
Carmelo grew up in the West end of Boston and moved to Ashland in 1964.
He was a co-founder of the Weepin Willies Stores as well as the former Happy Farms Store which is currently the New Deal Store in Revere. He was an avid Bruins fan and loved the Red Sox.
Mr. Petruzzelli served his country honorably in the Army from from 1953-55.
Lovingly known as Pop; he is survived by six children; Robert Petruzzelli of Raymond, NH; Stephen Petruzzelli of Georgia; Sebastiano Petruzzelli of Ashland; Mark Petruzzelli and his wife Joanne of Marlborough; Susan Petruzzelli Hughes and her husband Maurice of Ashland, MA; Donna Petruzzelli Scott of Vermont; 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Public calling hours will be held Wed. April 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Stret in Ashland.

A Private funeral service will be held Thursday followed by burial in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
