FRAMINGHAM – The USDA Farmers to Families Food Box, with the collaboration of the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation, Framingham Public Schools, with community volunteers distributed 35,000 pounds of food on Saturday to Framingham.

It was an “amazing event,” said Dana Essigmann, who submitted these photo to SOURCE.

The distribution was at Framingham High School on Saturday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to noon, and another 400 boxes were distributed in South Framingham that afternoon.

Distribution will take place again on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Each food package contains 35 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, and meat products.

Nayagara Viera is the coordinator for the Feeding Framingham program.

The distribution process follows all COVID-19 health guidelines. Participants have limited interaction as they pick up their food boxes, which are easy to access.
