FRAMINGHAM – The City is one of 20 municipalities designated to be a Vaccine Equity Initiative member. Vaccine doses shipped to the City of Framingham are used to improve vaccine access for residents who have been and continue to be disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. Guided by the State’s framework, the Equity Initiative includes people of color, immigrants and recent arrivals, homebound and disabled individuals, individuals living in low-income and congregate housing, and individuals with multiple and complex medical needs.
Last week, clinics were held at the Greater Framingham Community Church, BRACE, Pelham Learning Center, Latino Health Insurance, and Metrowest Worker Center.
Since Wednesday, March 24, 990 dose one Moderna and 289 Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccinations have been administered under the Equity Initiative.

Of the 289 Janssen vaccinations, 68 of those were administered during home visits for functionally disabled and homebound residents.
To request a home visit, please call the City’s Public Health Nursing Office at 508-532-5667. Leave your name, phone number, and address, and someone will return your call within 36 hours.
Those who received dose one of Moderna were invited to return for a second dose at the same community site to become fully vaccinated.
The COVID Vaccine Team will continue to offer several clinics each week for the equity imitative at a variety of locations.
