FRAMINGHAM  – Theresa (Tiziani) Barbetti, 88, a longtime resident of Framingham, formerly of Marlboro, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

Theresa was the devoted wife of 60 years to Thomas Barbetti, who predeceased her in February of 2020.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Cesare and Mary (Tognacci) Tiziani of Framingham.

She graduated from Framingham High School and worked at Telechron in Ashland.

She then spent over 25 years at International Paper Company having moved her way up from manufacturing to the sales/service office, where she was affectionately known as “Terry”.

Upon retiring in the early 90’s, she went to work as the office manager for her nephews at Bartolini Brothers Construction Co. in Fayville.

Theresa was a member of the Emblem Club of the B.P.O.E Fraternal Order of Elks in Maynard for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and especially decorating cakes for the special celebrations of family and friends.

Theresa absolutely doted on her grandchildren, including moving back to Framingham to be closer to their home. She thoroughly enjoyed “spoiling” them and until five years ago loved driving to the local rinks with her husband to watch them play hockey.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Dianne Tersoni and her husband Joseph of Framingham as well as her beloved grandchildren, Bettina Tersoni and Michael Tersoni.

She is also survived by her brother, Roy Tiziani and wife Mary of Hopkinton, along with many nieces and nephews. Theresa was the sister of the late Josephine Bartolini.

Visiting hours will be Friday, April 16, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street (corner of Union Ave.), Framingham.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverley Street (Rt 135) Framingham.

A graveside burial will take place at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts in Theresa’s name can be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, 34 Washington Street, Suite 310, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or on their website at curealz.org.
