WALPOLE – The Framingham High boys track team won six events, but lost to the Rebels of Walpole High on the road today, March 31. Walpole won the meet 55-36.

Senior Finn Lawson won the hurdles in 7.7 seconds.

It is the #1 time in the Bay State League currently, said head coach Chris Collins.

Senior Sed Lomani captured third place in the hurdles at 8.3 seconds.

Senior Sam Westervelt won the dash and anchored the relay team to victory.

Westervelt won the 65 meter dash in 7.855 seconds.

“There was a starting point error leading to the 65-meter dash instead of the 55 meter dash,” explained Collins.

The Flyers won the 4 by 200 relay in 1:40.5 minutes. Runners included seniors Colin Jones, Ryan Maliewski, Sed Lomani, and Westervelt.

“Sam made up 9 meters in the anchor leg to get the win at the end,” said Collins.

Jones won the 300 meter event in 38.3 seconds.

Senior Maliewski won the long jump with a leap of 19-feet, 7,75 inches. Lomani took third with 18-feet, 6-inches.

Junior Miles Bishop won the shot put event for the Flyers. His throw was 42-feet, 4-inches.

The Flyers are an extremely small indoor team, competing outdoors, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Framingham High will go head-to-hear with the Tigers of Newton North next week.
