ASHLAND – Joseph Michael Connolly, 73 of Ashland passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 25, 2021. 

Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Morey) Connolly. 

He was the husband of Anne (Marchetti) Connolly for 53 years. ‘

Joseph served the Town of Ashland as a Police Officer for many years retiring in 2002. 

He served his country honorably from 1967-1971 in the US Air Force.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by three children; Casey Connolly and his wife Sandy; Amy Connolly; and Brian Connolly and his wife Elissa; five sisters; Patricia Themeli, Katie Connolly, Terry McGrath, Joanne Cranell, and Mary Rivest, one brother, Thomas Connolly, and many nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late James and Michael Connolly.

Public visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland.

The funeral service will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joe’s name to help support the Ashland VFW Post 2331 by sending a check to the Ashland Memorial Association, 311 Pleasant St. Ashland, MA  01721

All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a face mask. NO EXCEPTIONS

Funeral home visitors entering the funeral home will be limited to 10 at one time. Visitors may be asked to wait outside until room is available. Unfortunately no exceptions can made to this rule for inclement weather.

Condolences with the family should be kept brief so that others may enter after you.
