NATICK – Assunta Spadano, 77, of Natick, Falmouth, and Naples, FL passed away at home surrounded by her family on March 24, 2021. 

Cherished wife of Gaetano Spadano to whom she was married for 57 years.  Devoted mother of Linda DiFonzo and her husband Paul of Medway, Lorraine Spadano of Natick, Robert Spadano and his wife Sherri of Cumberland, RI, Lisa DeLuca and her husband Pasquale of Natick.  Loving grandmother of Nicholas Spadano, Marisa DiFonzo, Domenic DiFonzo, Mario DeLuca, Marina DeLuca, Sofia DeLuca, Juliana Spadano, Rocco DeLuca, Maya Spadano and Lucas Spadano.  Beloved sister of Pasqua Piccirilli and the late Nicola, Palma, Piacente, Vincenzo, Antonietta and Luigi.  She will be missed by family and friends all across the US, Canada and Italy. 

Assunta was born in Lanciano, Italy in 1943, moved to the US as a young bride and raised her family in Natick.  She was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family and considered a “best friend” by many.  While raising her family, Assunta worked side by side with her husband building a successful upholstery business. 

Once her children had grown, she worked for a number of years in the kitchens of Wellesley College where she shared her joy of cooking.  What she loved most was being “Nani” to her precious grandchildren while spending days on the beaches of Falmouth and Naples.

Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick on Monday March 29 at 9 a.m.

Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick at 10 a.m.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. 

Interment at Glenwood Cemetery, South Natick. 

Visiting Hours Sunday March 28 from 2-6 p.m. in the funeral home.
