FRAMINGHAM – The McDonald’s on Route 30 applied on March 3, 2021, to the Framingham License Commission to change its license to a 24-hour operation.

The fast food restaurant, however, has been operating 24-hours-a-day for years – at least dating back to 2016.

The McDonald’s franchise at 343 Cochituate Road currently holds a common victualler license to operate from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Under state law, every establishment with the capabilities for cooking, preparing, and serving food and which provides seating for the immediate consumption therein, is required to have a common victualler license.

The Route 30 McDonald’s franchise had a hearing before the Framingham License Commission on Monday night, March 22, to change its hours under its common victualler license, but the matter was tabled.

The franchise also needs to file ownership changes with the City of Framingham’s License Commission, and the Commissioners suggested everything take place at once.

The franchise is expected to come be heard at the next Framingham License Commission for changes to its hours and management
