WELLESLEY – The MBTA is replacing the bridge that carries the Framingham/Worcester Line over Bacon Street in Wellesley.

On March 26, crews will begin installing new foundations for the bridge at the track level.

Crews will work around the clock through the weekend.

This project will bring the bridge to a State of Good Repair, improving safety, resiliency, and reliability of the Worcester Line.

Work will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 26, and continue through 5 a.m. on Monday, March 29.

Shuttles will replace train service on the Framingham/Worcester Line all day on Saturday and Sunday.

To allow for this work, Bacon Street at Route 135/Central will be detoured through the weekend.

The MBTA will install signage indicating the detour route before any major construction begins. The MBTA encourage drivers to avoid the area or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
