FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High indoors boys track team has its season opener yesterday, March 13, against Brookline.

With just 7 athletes competing, the Flyers lost the season opener.

The team has just 10 athletes this strange COVID pandemic season.

The meet was held outdoors at Downes Field, due to the coronavirus.

“We are VERY small until this spring, which is very unnatural for us,” said head coach Chris Collins, “However we are talent-loaded.”

“We will not be competing to win a meet in the BSC (Bay State Conference), as we don’t have enough bodies to score those kinds of points, but we are competing to prepare to try to beat many this spring,” said Collins.

Senior Finn Lawson won the 55-meter hurdles in 8.2 seconds.

Framingham hurdlers took the first five spots, with senior Sam Westervelt second and Colin Jones third.

in the dash, junior Aidan Broderick took second place in 7.8 seconds. He also finsihed second in the 300-meter event in 44.5 seconds.

Framingham senior Fletcher Calder won the 300-meter event in 43.8 seconds.

Next up for the Flyers is a meet against Wellesley on March 23.
