ASHLAND – Jeanne M. Ward, 87, died, peacefully on March 9, 2021 at Valley Farm Residence in Ashland.

Jeanne was a resident of Sherborn, for over 50 years, last living on Great Rock Road.

Daughter of the late Tony and Blanche Desmarais, she grew up in Frog Hollow section of Hartford, CT, and attended Mount St. Joseph Academy in West Hartford.

She was named French-American Tobacco Queen in 1951.

Jeanne worked as a realtor for Century 21 in Sherborn Massachusetts for more than 30 years where she earned many Centurion and Pacesetter awards. Jeanne loved working with her clients and took great pride matching people with homes they loved.

Jeanne loved her large, boisterous, extended family, traveling, and the Sherborn Swap Shop. She enjoyed the beach, painting, antiquing, working in her yard, raising collie pups, watching the wildlife in the woodlands behind her house. But most of all she loved her rescue cat Minou, who was her constant companion in her last years. Jeanne would never turn down an ice cream cone or a jelly donut!

Jeanne is survived by daughters Maribeth Amber and husband Lenny Brenner of Biddeford, Maine, Lauralyn Ward and partner John Middleton of Huger, South Carolina,, Susan Oleson and husband David of Lyman, Maine, Gail Ward of Ashland, MA, and Amy Ward of Williamstown, MA, grandchildren Katie Jones and husband Patrick Jones,  Alaina and husband Mike Wickham, Kirsten Frizol, Erica Frizol , Alexander Watling, Brittany Watling, Jake Bryan, Kaylie Bryan, great-grandchildren Mckinleigh Frizol, Daisy Jones, and Henry Wickham. She also leaves her sister-in law Roisin Desmarais of California, sister-in law Therese Desmarais of Rockport, MA, sister Jo-Ann and husband William McCann of Stratford, CT, Brother Alan and wife Joan Desmarais of New Britain, CT, sister Diane and husband Peter Ullman of Plymouth, MA. She was predeceased by her brothers Stuart Desmarais and Richard Desmarais. She also leaves thirteen beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held later this year when family and friends can meet safely again
