FRAMINGHAM – One of two finalists for the principal at Whittemore Elementary School is a vice principal at a Framingham elementary school.

Waltham sSuperintendent Brian Reagan, said in a press release, a 13-person screening committee interviewed four candidates and chose two finalists.

The two finalists are Barbieri Elemnetary Vice Principal Ricardo Dobles and David Sweder

“Since 2015, Dobles has served as one of two vice principals of the Barbieri Elementary School, a two-way Spanish immersion school in Framingham. He also worked in Worcester Public Schools.

The release said Dobles “was described as an astute observer of classroom instruction, as a leader open to new ideas and as an advocate for all students who promotes and supports high quality instruction.”

Dobles holds two degrees from the Harvard University Graduate College of Education: a Master of Education and a Doctor of Education.

Sweder works as one of two assistant principals at Kennedy Middle School in Waltham. He has taught English at McDevitt, Kennedy and Waltham High School, and was a principal intern in the Boston Public Schools.

He has a Master of Arts from UMass Boston, and holds a Master of Education from the Harvard University Graduate College of Education.

Supt. Reagan is expected to make an appointment by March 22, with a start date of July 1, said the release.
