BALDEN – The scheduled spring MCAS testing will be postponed, said Massachusetts education officials.

the reason, many schools are still re-opening due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is slated to vote on a plan by Commissioner Jeffrey Riley to require schools district to re-open all elementary schools full time today.

MCAS testing will be scheduled for later in the 2020-21 school year. No date has been set as of now.

The plan to postpone is for MCAS in grades 3-8.

Commissioner Riley is pushing for elementary to return to the classrooms in April. Some school districts in the Commonwealth are set up K-8.
