MARLBOROUGH – John “Jack” J. Vahey, 60, passed away, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 after a period of declining health.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of Shirley (Allen) Vahey of Framingham and the late Thomas Vahey, Sr. who passed away in 2012.

He was a graduate of Marian High School, class of 1979, and was employed as Senior Facilities Coordinator at Staples for more than 20 years.

Jack was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Besides his mother Shirley, he is survived by his siblings, Thomas Vahey, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Marlborough, Lisa Kawakami and her husband Seiji of Framingham, and Linda Steele and her husband Derek of Framingham.  He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Ryan, and Kaitlyn Vahey, Mika and Maya Kawakami, Robert, and Logan Steele.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George Church, Framingham on Thursday, February 18.

Interment will also be private at St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, MA 01702.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jack’s name to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
