FRAMINGHAM – After 15 years with the City (Town) of Framingham, the health department’s office manager has submitted her resignation.

Maria A. Goncalves is leaving.

“I will be resigning from the Board of Health Department.  It has been an incredible 15 years working for the City (Town) of Framingham,” she wrote to staff today.

Goncalves is the second employee in the department to leave since December 2020.

Framingham Health Director Sam Wong announced his resignation in December. Wong personally wrote an email stating he was resigning. The City of Framingham then issued a press release that said the Health Director was on a a medical leave.

Paperwork from the City of Framingham’s Human Resources office shows that Wong is on vacation, and not medical leave.

The City of Framingham has not announced Goncalves departure yet.

Mayor Yvonne Spicer named Alexandra DePalo as interim Health Director at the end of December 2020.
