City of Framingham Announces 4 New COVID Deaths; Total 6,457 Cases Since Pandemic Began

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham announced 52 new COVID-19 cases since Monday, February 8.

Since the pandemic, there have been 219 deaths, as the City of Framingham announced 4 new deaths today, February 10.

Framingham has had a total of 6,457 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 75,000 residents.

That means just about 8 percent of the City has been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The good news is 5,037 individuals have recovered.

Active cases in the City of Framingham increased from 1,187 to 1,201

Individuals in quarantine is at 522.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts operates a free COVID testing site opened at Framingham State University’s parking lot on Franklin Street. It is drive-thru and by appointment only, through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Project Beacon.

The drive-thru testing site, operated by Project Beacon added a third lane on February 5. Senate President Karen Spilka advocated for the third lane, which will allow an additional 150 individuals per hour to be tested.

The Framingham residents-only free COVID testing site opened at SMOC HQ at 7 Bishop Street ended in 2020.

No new walk-up testing site has been announced for 2021.
