BOSTON – The National Weather Service overnight downgraded its winter weather warning to a winter weather advisory.

The advisory is in effect now through Monday at 1 a.m.

MetroWest should see 3 to 6 inches of snow now, according to the Boston/Norton office of the National Weather Service.

Snow overspreads the region this morning and will continue through the afternoon.

The snow may begin as a brief period of rain across eastern Massachusetts before changing to all snow.
