FRAMINGHAM – Eleanor M. (Carter) Pignone, 96, a lifelong resident of Framingham died Sunday, January 31, 2021 following a period of declining health.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Susanna (Bradley) Carter, and the beloved wife of the late Ralph C. Pignone, Sr.

A graduate of Framingham High School and the former Framingham School of Business, Eleanor married Ralph who was her next door neighbor in 1947.

While raising their family together, Eleanor worked as a bookkeeper for B & W Bus Lines, Wymans Garden Center, and Chester Drake & Sons.

Eleanor was happiest when spending time in the yard watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren at play. She loved the peace and tranquility of relaxing in her favorite chair on the deck. She loved her family dearly. She loved baseball, not just her Red Sox, but a true love for the game. Her priority was always her family, which included a large extended family as one of eight children herself.

She is survived by her children, Barbara A. Jones of Lancaster, and Ralph Jr (RC) and his wife Tracy of Ipswich, her grandchildren, Timothy Jones and his wife Jennifer of Lancaster, Nicole and Sydney Pignone of Ipswich, her great grandchildren, Kathryn and Madelyn Jones, her siblings, Henry Carter and Mary Theresa Scata both of Framingham, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her dear husband, Eleanor was predeceased by her son in law, John Jones, and her brothers, Frederick “Ted”, Walter “Babe”, Allan “Buck”, and Robert Carter, and her sister, Evelyn “Deet” Beaudet.

Considering the current health restrictions, Eleanor’s family will celebrate her Funeral Mass and Interment privately.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to: The Lauren Mae Fulone Memorial Scholarship, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, 10 N Market St. Mashpee, MA 02649.

Arrangements by the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home of Framingham. For live streamed services, or to share a memory with her family, kindly visit www.mccarthyfh.com
