FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham announced 99 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, January 22.

Since the pandemic, there have been 201 deaths, as the City announced a new death today on January 25.

Framingham has had a total of 6,087 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 75,000 residents.

That means just under 8 percent of the City has been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The City of Framingham is averaging 46.89 cases per day per 100,000 individuals over the last 14 days.

The City’s percent positivity for the virus over the last 2 weeks is 6.33%

The good news is 4,660 individuals have recovered.

Active cases in the City of Framingham increased 1,194 to 1,226.

Individuals in quarantine is at 574.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts operates a free COVID testing site opened at Framingham State University’s parking lot on Franklin Street. It is drive-thru and by appointment only, through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Project Beacon.

The Framingham residents-only free COVID testing site opened at SMOC HQ at 7 Bishop Street ended in 2020.

No new walk-up testing site has been announced for 2021.

But SOURCE has learned the City and state are looking at one of the City of Framingham’s polling places as a potential new walk-up COVID-19 testing site.
