FRAMINGHAM – Christopher David “Chris” Cohen, 51, died unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, January 17, 2021.

He was born in Framingham on August 19, 1969 the devoted son of Laurie (Burke) Cohen and the late John Cohen

Chris spent most of his life in Wayland and was a graduate of Wayland High School.

He was the brother of Jay Cohen and his wife Jennifer of Denver, CO; Jeff Cohen and his wife Mary of Tucson, AZ and Garrett Cohen and his husband Tom Goodale of Cumberland, RI. He also leaves behind his niece Miranda and his nephew Jack and was predeceased in death by his nephews Eric and Michael. Chris is also survived by many aunt, uncles, cousins and friends.

Chris loved his community of Wayland and his career as a police officer for the Town of Wayland Police Department.

He enjoyed spending time fishing on Dudley Pond in Cochituate and being with his friends. The Wayland community was a big part of Chris’ life and he was dedicated to helping others. As we all know, Halloween was his favorite holiday and his home was adored by many, as he always went above and beyond to decorate it for everyone’s enjoyment. Chris will be sorely missed and remembered by his family and friends.

At the request of his family, visitations will be private.

Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10:30 at Good Shepherd Parish and ST. ZEPHERIN CHURCH, 99 Main Street (Rte. 27), Wayland. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, masks must be worn at all times, social distancing will be observed and seating is limited at the church.

Private family interment will be held at a later date for Chris’ family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts’ in Chris’ memory may be sent to the MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home of Cochituate Village, Wayland.
