FRAMINGHAM – In its 18th year, New England’s largest consumer travel show – AAA Travel Marketplace – will take place virtually for the first time.

The travel industry has been upended over the past year, with tourism coming to a screeching halt and many traveler’s plans canceled or postponed. But through the recalibration of the travel landscape one thing remained certain: the spirit of a traveler remains strong and when the world is ready, AAA will be there to get our members traveling again.

The new AAA Travel Virtual Marketplace will feature many of the elements attendees came to expect and enjoy from the traditional in-person show, but from the comfort of their homes: exhibitor booths representing all facets of the travel industry, informative presentations from experts and the ability to connect with and book with a live AAA Travel advisor.

This free event also has SmartDepart certified travel advisors available to answer questions about safe travel best practices.

“The travel industry continues to evolve, and so do we,” said Chelsea San Martino, director of travel marketing at AAA Northeast. “We know there is going to be pent-up demand to travel once it’s safe to do so, so we wanted to create a digital environment where our members and travelers can still dream, learn and engage with travel advisors safely from home.”

During the show attendees can anticipate unbeatable travel deals, limited time offers, exclusive member benefits, and the opportunity to book now, travel later and save. In addition, there will be daily show specials, giveaways and the chance to win an amazing vacation – including airfare – courtesy of AAA Travel and AAA Member Choice Vacations®. Guests who book travel at the event qualify for a gift card (up to $400) or a future travel credit (up to $800) on top of special offers. And with enhanced, flexible change policies travelers can secure their dream vacation with confidence.

There is plenty to be inspired by at the show – with 30 vendors and 50 different presentations representing everything from river and ocean cruising to North American discoveries, and international explorations to tropical getaways. There is something for everyone. Attendees can also learn about group “bubble” tours from Club Adventures by AAA Exclusive Vacations, where just 6 people traveling together secures a private tour with over 1,000 itineraries to choose from all over the globe.

AAA Travel Virtual Marketplace is being held Saturday, January 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Travel Marketplace is open to all, but additional member benefits and discounts are available to AAA members.
