Wayland Police Officer Christopher Cohen

WAYLAND – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden death of Officer Christopher Cohen, announced Wayland Interim Police Chief Sean Gibbons, this morning, January 19.

“Officer Cohen passed away this weekend at his residence,” said the Chief.

Officer Cohen was a graduate of the Wayland Public Schools and later joined the Wayland Police Department in 1996.

“He proudly served the community holding many positions with the department including Detective, Patrol Officer, Arson Investigator and Crime Scene Technician. He was a loyal and dedicated member of the department who will be missed.Please take a moment to remember Officer Christopher Cohen and keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We will notify the community when funeral services have been finalized,” said the Chief.
