ASHLAND – Mary T. (Manzi) Spinazzola, 97, a longtime resident of Ashland died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Saturday, January 16, 2021, after a period of declining health.  

Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Savario & Maria (DelVecchio) Manzi, and beloved wife of the late Henry Spinazzola.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Henry, and her loving sons Richard, Raymond, and John Spinazzola, and her grandson Todd Spinazzola.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Marie J. Cheetham & her companion Jerome Donovan of Ashland, Her grandchildren, Bret Spinazzola of Ashland, Alaina Flanagan & husband Michael of Dracut, and Amanda Spinazzola of Ashland, Her great grandchildren, Logan, Michaela, and Owen Flanagan, and many nieces and nephews.

Growing up in Marlborough, Mary graduated from Marlborough High School. She soon married and started her family, spending the rest of her life in Ashland.  

Mary worked for many years at TJX, in the shipping and dispatch department, where she used her attention to detail and ease of communication.  She was always willing to lend a hand to help her fellow workers. In her free time and in her later years,

Mary enjoyed playing bingo with her devoted longtime friend Dee, and day trips with her daughter to the casino and other destinations.

Family was everything to Mary, and she was a true matriarch, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Throughout her life, Mary cared for her family with love and dedication.  She celebrated holidays, and special occasions with family, and enjoyed making large homemade meals. Mary had a way of making everyone feel special, and she will forever be remembered in that way by her family and friends. 

Due to current health restrictions, Mary’s family will honor and remember her life with a private graveside service.
