WASHINGTON DC – American now has more than 24 million COVID-19 cases, according to Johns Hopkins University.

It took the United States more than 300 days to reach 12 million cases, and just 59 days to add another 12 million cases.

More than 398,000 people in the U.S. have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in 2020. The country is expected to surpass 400,000 this week.

As of today, January 18, America leads the world in COVID cases and COVID-19 deaths.

India is second with 10-plus million COVID cases and Brazil is third with more than 8 million cases.

Brazil is second in death with more than 200,000 and India is third with more than 150,000.
