WASHINGTON DC – President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are inviting Americans across the country to come together for a national moment of unity and remembrance to honor the lives lost to COVID-19 on Tuesday, January 19 at 5;30 p.m.

In Washington, D.C., the two will host a ceremony featuring the first-ever lighting of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to honor and remember those who have died.

“We encourage Americans to join us in lighting a candle in your window for this nationwide moment of remembrance,” said the organizers.

Almost 400,000 individuals in America have died from COVID-19 since the pandemic began in 2020.
