FRAMINGHAM – Mary A. (MacKay) Moore, 95, a longtime resident of Framingham, died on Sunday evening, January 10, 2021.  

Born in Boston the daughter of the late Henry & Martha (Anderson) Mackay, she was the beloved wife of the late John J. Moore, Sr.

Mary was raised in Somerville and was a 1944 graduate of Somerville High School.

She married the love of her life John in 1947, and together they settled in Framingham to raise their family.

Active in her faith, she was on the Tabernacle Society at St. George Church.

Mary loved to read, knit, sew, and play a good game of bridge.  She and John had a large circle of friends that enjoyed traveling together.

Mary is survived by her children, John J.“Jack” Jr. & his wife Patricia A. of Dennisport, Martha C. Cunningham of Hopkinton, and Janice M. Moore & her wife Lisa of Somerville; her grandchildren, Kevin  & his wife Lucinda, Brian & his wife Amanda, Jake, and Daniel; and her great grandchildren, Celina, Ella, and Eddy. Besides her husband John, Mary was predeceased by her son Thomas W. Moore, her son-in-law Michael F. Cunningham, and her brother Charles Mackay.

In consideration of the current health restrictions, Mary’s family will honor and remember her life with a private funeral mass and interment.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to: The National MS Society or The Alzheimer’s Association.
