FRAMINGHAM – MJ (MaryJane Canelli) Maxfield, 75, most recently of Marlborough, died Thursday December 31, 2020 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Patrick & Florence (O’Donnell) Canelli.
Raised and educated in Saxonville,, MJ went to work for Waters Assoc. after high school where she met Robert Cudmore. Together they had two sons and moved to Medway. As her boys got older, she went back to work as campus police at Babson College. Her second marriage was to Brian Maxfield where they owned and operated Raven’s Albatross restaurant in Milford. They then moved to Millis to one of the oldest historic homes in the area. After their divorce, she met the love of her life Roger Stearns. They married soon after and moved to Franklin. She helped operate his construction firm until his untimely death, finishing her career at D’Agostino Masonry until retirement.
After retirement she moved to Marlborough to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her family and friends, traveling, gardening, kayaking and her pets.
She is survived by her sons, David Cudmore and his wife Karen of Bolton, Sean Cudmore and his wife Sandra of Marlborough, her grandchildren, Sgt. Ryan Cudmore, US Army, Holly Cudmore, Pvt. Nicholas Cudmore, USMC. She is also survived by her cousin Jean Drapeau of Bellingham, and nephew Scott Merloni of Ipswitch. In addition to her parents and husband Roger, she was predeceased by her sisters Carol Lunkins and Tricia Canelli.
MJ’s family will honor and remember her life privately.
