HOLLISTON – William Thomas Colwell, 88, of Uxbridge and formerly of Holliston, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Born in Bridgeport, CT. he was the son of the late Irene E. (Murihead) and Edgar Walter Colwell.

He was the husband of 42 years to the late Ruth (Murphy) Colwell. 

William was a 1950 graduate of Milford High School in Connecticut. He worked as a tool engineer salesman at Greenfield Tap and Die in Greenfield, MA, as well as other tool companies for over 45 years. 

He was a member of the Lion’s Club in Greenfield and Ashland.

During his retirement, Bill enjoyed singing karaoke and entertaining residents of many elderly care facilities in the area, including Care One in Millbury, where he was a resident since May of 2020.

William is survived by three children, William T. Colwell Jr. and his wife Rita of Hubbardston Ma., Robert B. Colwell of Danvers Ma, and Jill C. Tieuli and her husband, Anthony of Uxbridge Ma . He also leaves behind his sister, Janet Wilcox of Lady Lakes, Florida; four grandchildren, Bryan, Daniel and Robert Colwell and his wife Dannielle, and Melissa Colwell Altieri and her husband Jeff ; as well as four great-grandchildren, Bridget, and Zachary Colwell, Lina and Alivia Altieri. 

A graveside inurnment service will be held on Wednesday, January 6 at 11a.m. at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
