ASHLAND – Lillian Cunningham, 92, of Ashland passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 28, 2020. 

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anne (Dischino) Uttero and grew up in Wellesley. 

She was the wife of the late Robert W. Cunningham, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. 

Lillian worked for the Ashland Board of Selectmen for many years.  She was a tireless volunteer, having served on the Board of the local newspaper, Ashland Directions, as well as the Framingham Union Hospital Aid Committee. 

She also was the coordinator of the Salvation Army Giving Tree for many years, was a Registrar of Voters for the Town of Ashland and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Cecilia’s Church.

In her spare time she enjoyed playing bridge and golf.  She was very social and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Beth Muirhead and her husband Kenneth of Rollinsford, NH, and Kelly Mooshian of Nashua, NH, as well as four grandchildren, Robert Cote (wife Amanda), Amy Batchelor (husband Nathaniel), Brian Muirhead (fiancé Emma Martz) and Kevin Muirhead.  She is also survived by her brother, Cosmo Uttero, and her sister, Jean Beeler, as well as many special nieces and nephews and a long list of very special friends and neighbors.

Due to Covid limitations, burial will be private at this time. 

Services will be planned to celebrate Lillian’s life when it is safe for all to gather. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Amedisys Foundation, c/o MetroWest Hospice, 200 Nickerson Rd., Ste. 110, Marlboro, MA 01752, or to the Salvation Army, 350 Union Avenue, Framingham, MA 01701.
