“The School Committee voted to approve the Ashland winter season, with games starting no sooner than Jan 19, 2021, with the expectation that student athletes that participate in Ashland athletics will not participate in other in-person external competitive leagues or teams,” announced Superintendent of Schools Jim Adams in an email to families this morning, Dec. 28.
The following High School sports will be offered; Alpine Ski, Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Ice Hockey, and Gymnastics.
Monday, January 4 will be the first day of practice/tryouts.
Monday, January 19 will be the first available date for competition
“Should Ashland High School move to a remote only learning environment, athletics will immediately be paused until returning to an in-person model (hybrid or full) – this includes student-athletes participating on Co-op teams,” said the school district.
“Should there be a confirmed case of COVID-19 for a student-athlete, coach, etc. as well as any member of an opposing team within the contact tracing period as determined by APS medical staff, all members of the specific team, will be considered a close contact and must quarantine for 14 days per Ashland School District policy.”
