FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham announced 75 new COVID-19 cases since Monday.

Framingham was averaging 8 cases per day around Labor Day, the City of Framingham is now at 80 cases per day per 100,000 people. That is a 10X increase in 3 months.

Since the pandemic, there have been 175 deaths, as the city announced five new deaths today, Wednesday, December 23

Framingham has had a total of 4,689, coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 75,000 residents.

The good news is 3,527 individuals have recovered.

Active cases in the City of Framingham decreased from a high of 1,050 to 987

Individuals in quarantine is at 450.

 A new free COVID testing site opened this month at Framingham State University’s parking lot on Franklin Street. It is drive-thru and by appointment only. There are holiday hours this week and next week.

The United States has reached 300,000 deaths due to COVID-19.

300,000 is roughly the population of the City of Tampa in Florida. In Massachusetts, that would be the entire cities of Worcester and Cambridge. 

Since the pandemic began, the United States has had 18.225 million cases of the COVID-19, leading the world.

The United States is averaging 64.5 cases per day per 100,000 people, according to the CDC.
