FRAMINGHAM – Joanne Madaglia of Framingham, beloved daughter of Sharon (Aucoin) Madaglia and Joe Ventola of Framingham and Richard Madaglia and Glynis Covino-Madaglia of Lynn, passed suddenly on December 15, 2020.

Joanne was a loving, kind individual who chose social work as her profession upon graduating from Pine Manor College. Her passion was for helping others and she considered it a joy to work with at risk youth, the homeless, the elderly and most recently with autistic children.

She was a special education aide in the Framingham Public Schools at Brophy Elemengtary and King Elementary.

Joanne inherited her gift of compassion from her Mom, her artistic ability from her Dad and her love of providing service to others from both. Joanne loved word art and she embodied one of her favorite quotes, “And though she be but little, she is fierce”.

Joanne found comfort in her faith at Faith Community Church of Hopkinton and quoted, “If the sky falls, hold up your hands”.

Joanne is the granddaughter of Richard Aucoin and her beloved late grandmother Irene Aucoin of Florida and the late Donald and Elizabeth Madaglia of Waltham. She is survived by a host of loving uncles and aunts and cousins as far away as Florida and Arizona and as close as Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She leaves behind Peanut her faithful, furry companion and a host of loving friends old and new.

Jo embodied the wearing of a black dress, red lipstick and her silver jewelry. As a friend stated, “she never settled for being anyone else but exactly who she wanted to be”.

In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness, especially for the LGBTQ community, for those struggling with addiction/recovery, for the elderly or children in Jo’s memory. These are all communities that she was a part of and were near and dear to her heart.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Prayers please for her family and all who loved her

Arrangements by Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services in Framingham.
