FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters extinguished a “smoldering” apartment fire on Irving Street in downtown Framingham on Friday night, said Framingham Deputy Fire Chief K. Ryan Sullivan.

Engine 5, Engine 3, the rescue truck, ladder truck, and car 2 responded to the report of a fire at 6:08 p.m. on Irving Street.

The apartment building was evacuated, said the deputy chief.

“It was a small smoldering fire in an apartment,” said the deputy chief.

No one was injured.

The apartment is livable, said the deputy chief.
