FRAMINGHAM – James M. O’Connor, 65, of Framingham, died Sunday, December 13, 2020 with his sister by his side, following a brief illness.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late James V. and Mary Jane (Martel) O’Connor.

Jimmy beat Eastern Equine Encephalitis in 1956, and spent the rest of his life dealing with its impact.

His family settled in Framingham in 1967 where he thrived with SMARC, an organization that helped children with special needs, and later in life was with Advocates here in Framingham.

Listening to Neil Diamond, the Bee Gees, or Frank Sinatra put a smile on his face, only to be topped by a bowl of his favorite ice cream.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted sister, Colleen O. Jones and her husband Terrence P. of St. Charles, IL, his nephews, Connor J. and Liam P. Jones, and several cousins.

Considering the current health restrictions, Jimmy’s family will honor and remember his life with a private funeral mass and interment.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Jimmy’s name to: Advocates, 1881 Worcester Rd., Framingham, MA  01701, https://www.advocates.org/support-advocates.

Arrangements by the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home of Framingham.
