BOSTON – The National Weather Service is forecasting a major snowstorm for most of Massachusetts mid-week.

” The potential exists for a winter storm late Wednesday into Thursday which could bring heavy snow to much of the area, strong winds along the coast, and coastal flooding and beach erosion to eastern Massachusetts,” according to the National Weather Service out of Boston/Norton.

The heaviest snowfall rates will start late Wednesday into Thursday morning. At times snow could fall 1-2 inches per hour, according to some computer models.
