FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters extinguished a small elecrical fire at 94 Union Avenue on Friday night, December 11.
Engines 3, Engine 5, Ladder truck, Rescue 1, and Car 2 responded to Terra Brasilis Restaurant, located across the street from Framingham Police headquarters around 7:30 p.m.
Initial report had smoke in the building,
“On scene crews found a smoldering electrical fire in the ceiling,” said Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.
“Restaurant personnel used several extinguishers to hold the fire at bay until Fire Department arrival,” said Chief Dutcher. “These quick actions and prompt calling of 911 limited the damage.”
Fire crews wet down the area and shut down power to the restaurant.
“Cause was accidental, electrical in nature,” said Chief Dutcher, who estimated $50,000 worth of damage.
