BOSTON – The National Weather Service Boston/Norton has issued a winter storm watch from Saturday morning into Sunday morning.

Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches is forecasted for MetroWest.

The storm will start off with heavy rain and then change into snow.

Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.

There is the potential for a period of heavy snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour after the changeover Saturday afternoon.

Scattered power outages and some downed trees possible from the wet snow especially if the higher amounts are realized.

Snow tapering off later Saturday night, but could continue until Sunday morning.
