FRAMINGHAM – Robert A. “Bob” Price, age 97 of Framingham, formerly of Sharon died November 28, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth L (Whitman) Price and brother of the late William Price. Loving father of Janet Holding and her husband Dave, Jean Shimer and her husband Sheldon, Joanne Maloney and her husband Richard, Robert Price and his wife Anita and William Price and his wife Mary.  Adored grandfather of 9 (Jill, Rachel, Jennifer, Kelly, Connor, Brendan, Jacqueline, Stephen, and Angela) and great grandfather of 5 (Alyssa, Jaxon, Charlotte, Amelia and Wyatt).

Bob was raised in Somerville and Wellesley.

He proudly served as a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator and Gunner in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Following a bombing mission over Munich Germany, his B-17 plane was shot down over occupied France and his crew were surrounded by German Patrol. They were later rescued by French liberators and eventually made his way back to his base in England.

Following his honorable discharge from the service, he studied Accounting at the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. He worked for State Street Bank and Trust for 43 years making commercial loans to small businesses. He was very proud of making a loan to build the very first Boston harbor cruise ship, The Provincetown.

Bob loved golfing, fishing, reading and traveling and was an avid Boston sports fan. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son who valued family above all and prioritized providing for his wife and children.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private burial service will take place at the National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Visiting Angels, 142 North Road #F130 Sudbury, MA 01776.
