FRAMINGHAM – The Gateway Camera Club is hosting Joe Marino on Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
The focus of the presentation is titled “Photographing Space Launches.”
Marino is a commercial and media photographer who has been covering events for various firms, magazines and NASA Contractors at the Space Center since 1981.
He has also conducted commercial photographic assignments for cruise lines as well as public relations firms in Florida.
UPI hired Joe as a contract photographer for the main purpose of covering the events at KSC. Through that time, Joe has also been assigned to cover NASA’s space events in Kazakhstan and French Guyana.
He has also become the “eclipse photographer” for the wire service, covering these events over the North Atlantic, Arizona, Oregon and Chile. Assignments have taken him throughout parts of the US, Europe and the Mid East.
On the “side” Joe conducts annual safaris in pursuit of photographing Kenya’s vast array of wildlife and also brings photographers interested in photographing the Northern Lights in Iceland. Considering himself as an “old schooler.”
Marino does not have a website (yet), but can be found in social media by way of Facebook. Throughout his tenure with UPI, many of Joe’s images have been awarded UPI’s “Photos of the Year.”
His trips to Kenya and Iceland are filled by “word of mouth” to those interested in photography and wildlife.
