FRAMINGHAM – International Data Corporation (IDC), the premier global provider of market intelligence and advisory services, today unveiled the inaugural IDC Future of Digital Innovation Awards, designed to highlight successful projects and initiatives in North America.

Categories span 12 unique applications of digital innovation, from retail to energy, healthcare to sustainability and more. Specifically, IDC is looking for details on implemented initiatives, such as pilots or projects, as opposed to ideas or planned initiatives.

Awards recognizing unique solutions and business success stories will be presented to winning initiatives at an awards ceremony in August 2021.

IDC categorizes digital innovation factories as end-user organizations that are embracing at least two of the four pillars of digital innovation, which are plan, source, develop, and distribute, in conjunction with their software creation and use. The development of software may include integration into the company’s core products; actively sourcing externally created (open or closed source) components or external APIs; and/or actively distributing code or software-based solutions.

Primary requirements of all Future of Digital Innovation Excellence nominations are:

  • Must be a Future of Digital Innovation initiative as defined by IDC
  • All nominations must be in production with existing customers/users
  • Must be able to articulate and show key performance indicators to ascribe value to completed project
