FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham man crashed his van into the Red Roof Inn at 3 a.m. on October 24, after he was drinking, according to police.

Police arrested early Saturday morning Josue Torres, 34, of 650 Cochituate Road in Framingham at the Red Roof Inn, at 650 Cochituate Road.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to police.

“Had been out with friends,” and admitted to police he had consumed alcohol said Framingham Police Lt. Patricia Grigas.

He was staying at the Red Roof Inn, said the police spokesperson.

Torres “pulled into parking lot, believed the van to be in park, while getting out of the vehicle, hit the gas and vehicle struck the building near room 174,” said Lt. Grigas.

The crash damage included a “cracked wall, broken window, door buckled,” said Lt. Grigas.

“The two occupants of the room were assisted in getting out of the room,” said Lt. Grigas, but there were no injuries.
