FRAMINGHAM – For those who are not aware, there was a World Series game in Framingham last night!  From the Framingham Baseball League Major’s Division (ages 8-12), the A’s played the Pirates for the coveted championship.  The A’s had a good regular season, leading to a #2 seed in the playoffs and first round bye.  While the Pirates showed their might in the playoffs, catching fire and knocking out team after team, including the top seed, to reach the World Series.

The A’s won the first game of the best of three Series.  In Game 2, the A’s jumped out to an early lead but the Pirates played well and kept the game close.  In the bottom of the last inning, the Pirates mounted a two-out comeback.  But ultimately it fell short, as a relay throw from leftfield to shortstop to catcher was executed perfectly, tagging the runner for the final out and securing the A’s victory!

I cannot recreate the excitement of the night in this brief writeup, but it was amazing!  The boys from both the Pirates and the A’s provided family, friends and all fans a truly wonderful night and much needed relief from the relentless bad news that pours out of 2020.

Congratulation A’s!  Great team, great kids, much fun!  A well-deserved championship for Archie, Bennett, Chris, Eli, Evan, Gabe, Jack, Jacob, James, Jimmy, Nick, Patrick and Swinging Sammy – oh yeah, and it was Sammy’s birthday…Best. Present. Ever!

Good luck to all next season!
