FRAMINGHAM – Three new police officers joined the Framingham Police Department today, October 23.

The new officers include two Framingham High graduates and a Keefe Technical High graduate.

The trio were sworn in this morning, in a private ceremony attended by the command staff, and two guests for each officers, said the police spokesperson.

The new officers are Domenic Guarino, Eric Leone, and Matthew Benjamin.

Officer Guarino is a 2015 graduate of Framingham High School. Officer Guarino joined the United States Marine Corps immediately after graduation, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Officer Guarino was Honorably Discharged from the Marine Corp in July, 2019.

Domenic Guarino joins his cousin Mitch, and his brother Anthony Guarino as a member of the Framingham Police Department.

Guarino said “while on active duty in the military, he decided he wanted to serve the City of Framingham as a police officer. He saw what his cousin Mitch was doing and the positive impact he was having on the community and wanted to do the same thing … I want to be a positive influence on the kids in the City.”

Linda Guarino pinned the badge on her son this morning.

Officer Leone is a 2007 graduate of Keefe Tech High School. Prior to joining the Framingham Police, Officer Leone worked as a tile finisher. Officer Leone was also a member of the US Army Reserve for 6 years. Officer Leone was Honorably Discharged in August 2019.

“I have always felt a strong desire to serve my community. Assisting the residents and making the city I grew up in a safer place is very appealing to me,” said Officer Leone.

Leone’s fiancé Kirsten Wood pinned his badge on him this morning.

Officer Benjamin is a 2014 graduate of Framingham High School. Officer Benjamin also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Framingham State University.

“I have lived in Framingham my whole life, and want to make a difference in the community. Working as a police officer will put me in a position to help others,” said Officer Benjamin, who was pinned by his mother Barbara.
