FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be implementing temporary overnight closures of the off-ramps on Interstate 90 eastbound and westbound at exit 12 (Route 9) in Framingham.

The temporary closures are necessary to allow crews to safely and efficiently conduct routine construction operations, and will take place as follows:

  • The I-90 eastbound exit 12 off-ramp will be temporarily closed on Sunday October 18, and on Tuesday, October 20, from 10:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. the following morning.  Traffic will be directed to utilize exit 13 during the closures.
  • The I-90 westbound exit 12 off-ramp will be temporarily closed on Monday, October 19, and on Wednesday, October 21, from 10:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Traffic will be directed to continue westbound and take exit 11A (I-495) to access Route 9 from I-495 northbound at exits 23 A and B during the closures.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be impacted due to an emergency.
