FRAMINGHAM – Mayor Yvonne Spicer made her second nomination to the 5-member Framingham Union Grants Panel.

“Members of the Framingham Union Grants Panel shall be selected as follows: (i) four members shall be selected by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation from a pool of eight persons who are residents of the Town of Framingham and are nominated by the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Framingham; and (ii) one member who is a resident of the Town of Framingham shall be selected by the Board of Trustees of the MetroWest Health Foundation.”

Spicer nominated District 5 resident Elizabeth Cross.

Cross has “served on the Framingham Union Grants Panel for six years. As a 20 year veteran in the healthcare development field, previously with the Natick Visiting Nurse Association and currently for Brigham and Women’s Hospital, she brings a wealth of knowledge working in grant writing and development,” wrote the Mayor in her email to the 11-member City Council on October 6.

The 11-member Council has 30 days to approve or reject the nomination. If no action, Cross will be on the board for another 3-year term through June 30, 2023.

The Mayor previously nominated former School Committee member Carol Phalen to the Panel.

The other current serving members were all appointed by the Framingham Board of Selectmen when Framingham was a town.

The other members are:

  • Carol Phalen District 3, her appointment ends on June 30, 2022
  • Molly Ruddock
  • Viviana Vilches
